Ahh the 80's. Big hair and that SOUND! Looking back, the music was pretty distinct and this song is just a stereotype of the era. When I first heard this guy, I did NOT think that big booming voice was coming out of that dude. Kudos to him.
This was Rick's second number one song, a follow up to the now infamous "Never Gonna Give You Up". Since I didn't want to "Rick-Roll" anyone, I opted for this hit, rather than the former. It's got a nice instrumental break in the middle figure, which changes things up a bit and our producer, Buzzy, nailed it. Big Sound, big break - the Big 80s! |
