Up and coming...Okay, I'll admit it. I record songs that I like, that I want to sing. Not so much about if they will sell or not. Too many labels do too many of the same tunes over and over.
This is a song by SIR Paul McCartney. It went to number #2 in 1980. It's a light hearted tune and it's obvious McCartney had fun doing it. According to the legend himself, it helped get Lennon back in the studio too. In his own words: I heard a story from a guy who recorded with John in New York, and he said that John would sometimes get lazy. But then he'd hear a song of mine where he thought, 'Oh, sh*t, Paul's putting it in, Paul's working!' Apparently 'Coming Up' was the one song that got John recording again. I think John just thought, 'Uh oh, I had better get working, too.' I thought that was a nice story. — Paul McCartney Any tune that puts Lennon back in the studio, is a great tune in my book. |
