Sometimes something special comes along...A boy band named One Direction was the inspiration for this song. The powerful chorus just gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it. I hoped we could replicate it in Square Dance form, and honestly, I think we did pretty damn good.
When it came time to record the vocal, my best friend's daughter, Sarah, was sitting in the back seat as we headed out to call a dance in Texas. She started singing a harmony and sweet mother, we had to put it in. If you don't use the version with her vocal backing you up, your dancers are missing out. And as I said, this was recorded originally by a boy band - so there's like 5 members singing. Well, to try and keep up, you'll hear the Ted "quintet" doing 5 parts in the background singing "the story of, the story of". Pretty cool all the way around. |
